Let's Keep WSPS Going!

We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe and healthy amidst the ongoing pandemic. Given the current uncertainties, we wanted to provide a quick update on the West Side Play Space and our future plans.

For those who haven't heard of the Play Space or just need a little reminder, it's a program of the West Broadway Neighborhood Association. As a volunteer-run cooperative on the west side of Providence, for the past (almost) decade WSPS has been a place where families & children can come together to play, learn and build community. WSPS offers children opportunities for active play, quiet reading, art, and imaginative play, as well as special programming and events. WSPS has always been committed to making our space accessible to all; no family has ever been turned away for lack of funds.

Although the space has been closed the past two seasons due to COVID, we're hoping that it can re-open once it's safe to do so -- especially since we have such a beautiful space housed at Children's Friend (70 Union Avenue). But in order for the space to continue to be a resource and asset to the community, we'd love to have some new families step up to take on leadership roles. For the past few years, the leadership team has comprised a small group of parents -- but our children are aging out of the space and our time is more limited now. We are absolutely committed to transition new leadership in -- so please let us know if you're interested in helping out and learning more!

Thanks in advance for your support of the space and we hope to hear from some of you.

Best,

WSPS Leadership Team
