Our newly renovated, ultra-fabulous space in the Asa Messer Annex is now ready for us to move in! Children's Friend (the organization that renovated the space, and that will be occupying the majority of the building) is hosting a ribbon-cutting on Friday September 6th (Grand Opening - Early Childhood Center of Excellence) and we want visitors to get a sense of who we are and what it will look like.
The majority of our equipment, supplies, and toys are already at the renovated facility, but we need to set things up! For that the things that WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Come out to help decide how to design our new space! On Thursday, September 5th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm help WSPS Unpack & Organize! We will figure out where all of our fun stuff will go. It should be easy and fun. You’ll also get a sneak peak of the facility! RSVP to our event Unpack & Organize! for the details and let us know when you are available. Even an hour of your time would be helpful.
We are really in a better position than we have ever been before in that we have a space that has been designed exclusively for us and we have the stability of a 30 year lease. This is our forever home, and it should be wonderful! Paradoxically, though, we are in major need of new volunteers. The current leadership team has dwindled to just four of us who are hanging on because we care so much about seeing the playspace continue, but all of us would like to step back a little. We need more folks to join the leadership team to help decide on new procedures for the new space, recruit new members, and ensure that everything runs smoothly. It needn't be an enormous time commitment (most of us do this while working full- time), but please, please consider pitching in. (Again, feel free to message us).
